Congratulations to everyone who took part in our first Summer Art Show. The artworks were exceptionally strong. Not only did this show provide the opportunity to compare your work with other artists, it also provided a place to gather new ideas and inspiration to become an even better painter. The challenge of painting flowers is indeed a daunting one, they are a difficult subject! Even though flowers have been painted for hundreds of years, only a few floral paintings hold the viewer spellbound. (i.e. Van Gogh's Sunflowers)
In this show judging, points were given for good composition, the thoughtful use of color, value, and technical skill. Special attention was given to paintings that evoked feeling or were unique in presentation.
