 Anne Bagby
Fine art stamping
Anne Bagby combines fine art with
hand-cut rubber stamps and stencils. Her prints are found in many stores and
art shows.
Anne's instructional workshops teach fine art to stampers and stamping
to fine artists.
Anne Bagby paints still life
arrangements and surrounds the objects with borders typical of the design style
of the era in which the object was used. The borders may resemble tapestry,
quilts or printed fabrics. Bagby uses a variety of techniques to create the
decorative borders including, stenciling, stamping, photocopying, computer
printing, monoprinting, airbrush, collage and painting.
Anne, NWS, AWS, is a signature member
of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society as well as a member
of the Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Society and Watercolor USA Honor

program).
“I get my patterns from everywhere — fabric stores, wall paper
and Dover books. The stamps are cut with lino-cutters using the v-tips. For
small stamps, I use an exacto knife. I print layers of pattern, texture and
glazes — watercolor first, then acrylic, brushes, squeeze bottles
and sponges. This process produces a rich, complex surface.”
