
Janie Gildow
A high energy perfectionist, Janie Gildow, CPS, specializes
in dynamic realism through her colored pencil artwork. The clear, sequential
presentation of her subject is derived from her years as a public school fine
art teacher. For Janie, "Good art is a result of careful planning, creative
expression, strong composition, excellent craftsmanship, and a confident and
complete exploration of the medium."
While very active in professional associations,
Janie Gildow teaches workshops for the Colored Pencil Society of America, Creative Colored
Pencil Workshops and Discover Art in Seattle, Memphis, Detroit, San Diego and
Chicago. Her work has been published in the Artist’s
Magazine, American Artist, International
Artist and several books including The Best of Colored
Pencil volumes 2,3 4, and 5.
Janie Gildow is represented by Perceptions
Gallery in Tubac, Arizona, She is the co-author of North Light’s Colored Pencil Solution Book, and author of Colored Pencil Explorations,
