Now in its second printing, Mary Todd Beam's book speaks to the artistic process, the reaching beyond the self and into the unknown to tap into our own personal humanity. Mary encourages play, taking risks and exploration as part of the process.

Mary Todd Beam has a background in teaching and nursing, but she loves art. She incorporates personal symbols into her work, and allows the painting to tell her what's next. Her great joy is to be in the creative realm, with all its unknowns. She says, "It's the only place to be!" In spring of 2002, Mary Todd Beam won her second gold medal at the American Watercolor Society in New York.

Mary came to the CCP studio in December of 2001 to share her acrylic talents with us. The interview taped with her at that time is a real insight to her creative process. We are looking forward to remastering this timeless material for DVD.
