Sharon begins with a photo reference. She then develops several quick value sketches, each emphasizing a different aspect of the landscape. She selects one sketch and makes a more developed value study to use as a guide to her final painting process. Sharon paints background to foreground in contained managable areas. The result is a crisp, well organized landscape with clean color.

Sharon work in watercolor, oils, acrylics and mixed media, so the principles she teaches are applicable to artists in all media.
