International Inspirations in Polymer Clay
Vol. 1: PROVENCE

Dayle Doroshow outlines the basics of shaping, cutting and blending clay and introduces you to her tools. She explains the necessary precautions to ensure success.

In this first of two art instructional videos, International Inspirations in Polymer Clay, Dayle samples the colors and fabrics of southern France and demonstrates a half-dozen methods for adding Provence-inspired patterns to clay. You'll learn to transfer existing designs using photocopies, rubber stamps and T-shirt transfers and create original images using colored pencils and permanent markers. You learn antiquing methods to add a natural aged look.

Dayle explains how you too can search ancient cultures for insights and creative tips that add a rich, wonderful quality to your work. In the final segment, Dayle exhibits possibilities for future projects. But with this solid foundation in polymer clay, you'll have no trouble imagining your own creations.

MATERIALS: Polymer clay, Plexiglas work surface (optional), rolling rod/pin, Sharpie, colored pencils, rubber stamps, T-shirt transfer paper, black-and-white and color photocopies, copyright-free image sources, color photographs, acrylic paint (Liquitex), brushes, toothbrush, paper towels, pasta machine, index cards (for baking), needle tool, X-acto knife, linoleum carving tool with small V-gouge tip.

Great Introduction  -  by JoJoBee from CA US

I didn't know anything about polymer clay before watching this DVD. Dayle did an excellent job of demonstrating and explaining many techniques and the properties of polymer clay.

I loved the whole DVD  -  by Carol J. from Bandon, OR

I’ve purchased both your DVDs on polymer clay and so far have just played the Provence one. I want to complement you on the production, photography, your very clear instructions and (thankfully) the lack of boring background music….I loved the whole DVD and can’t wait to view the other one on China. Thank you so much for such a top-notch show. I have quite a collection of DVDs that I’ve purchased from CCP and think they are doing a fantastic job.

A Good Polymer Clay Foundation!  -  by Stefani Vance from Metropolitan D.C.

I am a beginner, and found Dale's information very helpful. After viewing the DVD twice, I worked along with her the third time through! The instructions and tips are priceless, especially the section on image transfers. The best thing I learned from the DVD is the importance of gathering inspiration from almost everywhere I go!

Thank you, Dale! I look forward to purchasing the second DVD!
