Everything you need to know about carving great stamps! - by Sharilyn Miller from Idyllwild, CA US

I have this DVD and absolutely LOVE it. Although I have experience carving my own rubber stamps with craft knives and erasers, and I already knew a fair bit about transferring images to rubber blocks in order to carve them, I was amazed by how much more I learned from Gloria while watching her DVD. Literally everything you need to know about this topic is covered, from the vast variety of carving materials available and their different qualities to the different types of knives you can use to carve out your designs. Gloria also shows and tells how to create your own imagery and demonstrates lots of different ways to actually use your stamps and print blocks to make everything from fine art prints to simple cards and other crafts. She also talks about using inks vs paints when printing, and demonstrates thermal embossing with a heat gun for those who are unfamiliar with these techniques. The filming was done very well, with plenty of close-up detail. Gloria's careful, methodical teaching style ensures that even a rank beginner can start carving imagery and making beautiful prints on paper, fabric, and other surfaces. I cannot praise this DVD enough! I learned so much from it, thank you Gloria and CCP Videos for providing an affordable workshop series on this topic!
