Sprinkle lifelike surface effects into your watercolors using salt. In this DVD workshop, Judy Morris adds crackling, crumbling texture to large washes to capture the rustic feel of Tuscan architecture.

Judy has developed predictable methods by systematically studying combinations of pigment, paper and salt. You'll benefit from her mastery of materials as you discover the effects of crystal size, pigment opacity, and paint consistency in a series of demos.

You'll paint perfect flat washes with multiple color shifts then bring them to life with Judy's texture effects. You'll dot your surface with bright accents to counteract the desaturating effect of salt.

Judy sculpts sharp edges for the chair and door with a combination of limited masking and controlled brush strokes. She glazes over salted areas to add a crisp finish.

I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love Judy Morris' DVD Tuscan Textures. I have viewed it many times and practiced some of the techniques. Still working at it. I would love it if Judy would make a book on the same subject with some more details!!

I was given this tape and have loved it. The lesson is clear and the techniques interesting and they work. For anyone planning a trip to Europe this is an excellent reference.
